What do you think of when someone says the word diet?

  • Temporary?
  • Hard?
  • Missing out on the things you enjoy?

I’m done with that…

On this blog I welcome you to join me on my journey of weight loss. I’m not following any given weight loss plan. No Atkins, low carbohydrates, cabbage soup, or miracle supplements. I’ve just become sick and tired of being sick and tired.

What you will learn through my journey is the only thing in life that can accomplish any goal, is shear determination and hard work.

If you don’t set your mind to your goals, you will not achieve them. Determination above all else is the key to being successful.

When you actually look up the term Diet in a dictionary you get:

  • a prescribed selection of foods
  • a legislative assembly in certain countries (e.g., Japan) — This one is a little out there …
  • the usual food and drink consumed by an organism (person or animal)
  • follow a regimen or a diet, as for health reasons; “He has high blood pressure and must stick to a low-salt diet”
  • eat sparingly, for health reasons or to lose weight
  • the act of restricting your food intake (or your intake of particular foods)

While the definition of diet doesn’t seem that bad, when you hear the term “Diet” it seems like such a negative word. I’m done dieting. I’ve decided to achieve my goals by making gradual but permanent changes in my life.
