Back on Track.
May 6th, 2010
Well, its been a while since I posted. As with most of you life sometimes gets me sidetracked. After suffering from a torn rotator cuff, I took some time off to heal. Too much time.
The bad news, I gained some of the weight back.
The good news is that I kept over 40lbs off.
The Great news… I’m motivated now more then ever to loose this weight. Why… I’m going to be a daddy and I’ll be nearly 39 before my first child is born. That means I’ll be pushing 60 when this kid graduates high school and retired before he’s out of school.
Let me ask you a very serious question… Take a hard look around, how many fat 60 + year olds do you know? Not many right… that’s because fat kills. My mom was a big woman and she died at 55 of a heart attack. Her father was not as big but was heavy and he died in his late 50′s (maybe early 60′s).
I’ve decided that not only do I want to set a good role model for my kids, I’d like to be alive long enough to be a grandfather some day. Don’t get me wrong for a big guy I’m in decent shape, blood pressure is normal, cholesterol is below 200 etc.
What does this mean… I need to get into shape.
This time I’m doing things a bit different. I’m going to use Beach Body and their P90x. I have time between now and when the baby is due to do it twice.
Stick with me, check this blog as I document my path from “Fat to Thin by Sheer F!@#$%* determination”
